MixReels - Video Editor Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the MixReels mobile application and related services (collectively “MixReels,” “we,” or “our”). The core video creation and editing features of MixReels can be used without registration; to let you access account-related services, we also offer optional third-party sign-in (such as signing in with Google or Apple). Unless you choose to sign in, we do not intentionally collect information that can identify you individually. This policy explains what data we interact with while delivering video creation/editing features and how we protect that data.
2. Information We Collect
We follow a data-minimization principle and only process the information necessary to keep the product functional and secure:
- Basic usage data: Feature usage counts, UI taps, crash logs, and performance metrics that help us troubleshoot and improve MixReels. These records are statistical or anonymized by design.
- Device information: Device model, OS version, system language, network type, and anonymized identifiers that let us optimize MixReels for different devices and prevent abuse.
- Feedback and support data (optional): We only see the email, screenshots, or issue descriptions you voluntarily share through in-app feedback or email so that we can respond and resolve problems.
- Local media information: When you grant access to Photos or the microphone, we only process the photos, videos, or audio you select on your device. These assets are read locally and are not uploaded without explicit action from you.
- Account information (only if you sign in): If you choose to sign in with a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, we receive a unique account identifier and the basic profile details you authorize the provider to share (for example, your email address, display name, or avatar). We use this only to create and secure your MixReels account; we never receive your third-party password.
- AI generation data: When you use AI generation features (such as AI lyrics or music), the prompts and other input you submit, together with the results that are generated, are transmitted to and processed by our own or third-party AI and cloud services so that we can produce and deliver the content.
- Purchase and credits data: If you buy credits or a subscription, the purchase is completed through the Apple App Store; we process the resulting transaction status and your credits balance to deliver and reconcile paid services. We never receive your full payment card number.
We do not collect data beyond the purposes above unless required by law, necessary to protect users, or explicitly authorized by you.
3. How We Use Information
We use the data described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve MixReels editing features and any related services;
- Create, maintain, and secure your account and provide account-related services when you sign in;
- Analyze performance, fix defects, and enhance stability and security;
- Send essential notices such as update reminders, release notes, or critical alerts related to editing experiences;
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights and safety of MixReels users.
We will not repurpose the data for other uses without getting your consent again.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties. We share limited information only in the following situations:
- With your explicit authorization or at your request;
- With vetted third-party service providers (for example, crash analytics, cloud hosting, and AI generation providers) solely to provide MixReels functionality. For AI features we transmit the input needed to generate your content; for other purposes we provide only anonymized or aggregated technical data. We require strict data-protection commitments from all providers;
- When required to comply with laws, regulations, or valid legal process, or to safeguard the rights, property, or safety of you, MixReels, or the public.
Before sharing we apply measures such as de-identification or encryption to ensure only the minimum necessary information is provided. Each third-party provider processes the data it receives in accordance with its own privacy policy.
5. Device Permissions
MixReels may request certain permissions so features can work correctly. You can revoke them anytime in system settings:
- Photos/Media Library: Import images and videos or save exported projects.
- Microphone: Record voiceovers or audio tracks.
Denying a permission may limit specific features but will not block you from using the rest of the app.
6. Storage and Security
We adopt industry-standard protections such as encrypted transport, access controls, audits, and backups to guard against unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, or loss. Photos, videos, and audio that you import into MixReels stay on your device unless you explicitly share or back them up elsewhere. Data required to operate online features—such as your account information, credits balance, and the input and output of AI generation—is stored and processed on the infrastructure of our cloud service providers (for example, Cloudflare). We only retain other necessary data for the shortest time required to fulfill this policy, then delete or anonymize it.
7. Account Sign-In and Deletion
Signing in is optional and is offered through trusted third-party providers (currently Google and Apple). An account lets you access account-related services. At present sign-in is not required by any specific feature, and choosing not to sign in does not affect the core video creation and editing experience.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you request deletion, we deactivate the account right away and keep the associated account information for 30 days before permanently erasing it. During this 30-day window you can restore the account by signing in again; once the window closes the data is deleted and can no longer be recovered. We may retain a limited portion of information beyond this period only where the law requires it (for example, for tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes).
8. Your Choices
You stay in control of your data and can manage it at any time by:
- Revoking Photos/Microphone access or clearing the app cache via system settings;
- Uninstalling the app to remove local data stored on the device;
- Deleting your account from within the app if you have signed in (see Section 7);
- Letting us know when you want us to delete logs or contact details used for troubleshooting—we will erase them promptly after the issue is resolved.
9. Children’s Privacy
MixReels is designed for adults and individuals with full legal capacity. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a minor, please use MixReels under guardian supervision. If a guardian believes we have unintentionally collected a child’s information, contact us using the email below so we can remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as services or regulations evolve. Significant changes will be highlighted in-app (for example, via popups or messages). Unless the law requires otherwise, updates take effect when published, and your continued use of MixReels indicates acceptance.
